TOPIC: KEY TO VERCOMING DARKNESS
SCRIPTURE: Then spake Jesus again unto them saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life | John 8:12
One thing that characterizes the world is the abundance of darkness. Isaiah 60:2a says that “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people…” in essence we can deduce from that:
i. You cannot be associated with the world and not be enveloped with its darkness
ii. The darkness of the earth has the capacity to throw people who follow the systems and pattern of the world into deeper darkness.
Every clime you step into there is huge darkness. Darkness is the force behind wickedness and corruption of this age. You tune to any news network today it is bad news that has enveloped it; this is the picture of the massive gross darkness on the earth today. How can one live in this world and not be affected by the darkness devouring nations and people today? Our anchor Scripture says that “he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Your decision to follow Jesus shields you from the darkness of this world. It doesn’t matter the darkness around your life now, if you decide to follow Jesus, you will begin to enjoy the light of life.
I pray for you today, receive grace to follow Jesus, Amen.
ACTION POINT: Begin to study through Scriptures the life and person of our Lord Jesus

PRAYER: I have the light of life in me, and so therefore, any form of darkness in and around my life vacate now in Jesus’ name.
